Emerging from Israel’s blooming house music scene, Roy Komashov is an accomplished DJ and producer who is known for his eclectic musical style and aims to create special moments and captivating memories for people through his blissful music. He’s released tracks on esteemed labels like Monaberry, Abracadabra, and Hurry Up Slowly, and recently delivered his striking EP Mi Amor on March 29th.

Surrounded by music of all kinds from a young age, he grew up aspiring to become a DJ and share his musical storytelling that evokes an emotional impact on an audience. While navigating the music industry, he confides that “some unexpected challenges were trying to find the right people” that shared his vision, believed in his craft, and helped push him forward in his career. After honing his skills and transitioning from one career to the next as an artist, he’s defined his enchanting sound as a blend of genres that’s influenced by disco, progressive Afro house and tech, and melodic house. After spending some time in the scene, the nostalgic visionary expresses a desire “to see more vocals and more melodies in music, such as in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s.”

A simple soul enamored by the melodies of life, Komashov conveys himself as someone who’s in love with food, all kinds of music, and good people. Born and raised in Tel Aviv, he emphasizes and loves how the vibrant music scene there is a 24/7, nonstop experience. People can immerse themselves into the euphoric music and enjoy a good vibey party every day of the week. He finds pride in the traditions that bind him to his family and community. “I’m proud mostly of my heritage and ethnicity in the way that it keeps me very close to my family all year long,” he explains, cherishing the weekly dinners and festive celebrations that serve as pillars of connection and belonging.

Reflecting on his personal growth, he shares insights gleaned from the past year. “I’ve learned that I love being busy all day long,” he reveals, finding solace in the whirlwind of activity that fuels his sense of vitality and purpose. “It makes me feel alive, happy, and productive. I’m always working to keep progressing in some way.” Nevertheless, he hopes to be known as an artist that takes his listeners on a unique journey in each tune or gig. “This upcoming year will be a year where I put 120% into my career growth,” he declares, poised to craft more resonant melodies for his audience while nurturing the cherished bonds with his family.
