A prominent star in Western Europe, Angie Be is a talented bombshell who recently moved to Miami to start fresh in her next quest as a local DJ in the electronic music scene. In the last few years, the charming gypsy has been roaming around various places to perform, breathe, and experience the culture of each city by staying no more than 3 months at a time. But for the first time in a long time, she has finally felt at home here in the 305 after relocating from Los Angeles 9 months ago.

While growing up in Corsica, an island located between France and Italy, Angie always displayed an interest in music, for she played the saxophone and was surrounded by all types of genres and sounds. She ventured out as a vocalist, signed with Universal Records, and became famous in Europe especially for her hit song “Soundwaves,” which climbed to number 1 in Italy and France after being played in over 27 countries. After winning a European award and following her career as a singer, the enthusiastic mademoiselle focused on her passions and decided to pursue a career in underground electronic music, such as melodic techno, deep house, tech house, and techno. Since then, she has traveled all over the world to cherished places like Bora Bora, Thailand, and Bali, while residing in America the last 6 years. “I moved to the U.S. because I love how multicultural it is and how opportunistic it is for the music. What makes Miami so great is that it’s a vacation place where everyone smiles and spreads good vibes. Even the locals are very nice, and in an international city like this, you don’t feel like you’re in the U.S. at all.” By living in various cities, the well-traveled DJ has grasped a lot about a community’s music culture and how the people live day-to-day.

While working alongside a team of producers, she strives to be one-of-a-kind in the music scene with her dynamic experiences and unique influences. Her goals here include building clientele and educating the crowd in small steps with her underground tunes. With all that she’s experienced, she’s realized that “you can’t win in life if you don’t take risks.” Compared to her earlier days as a singer, Angie has noticed a distinct difference with the vital presence and importance of social media. “It’s interesting seeing how we’re all like little kids on Instagram, attached to our phones. Although it’s fun and invigorating, it feels like a game where you have to be present and online everyday to see how many likes and followers you can get.”

The French native records her mixes live and is open to new opportunities that come her way. Nevertheless, the big dreamer radiates positive vibes and truly believes that if you work hard, you can make it. As her journey begins here in Miami, the free-spirited artist is already hosting underground music parties at the SLS Hotel, the Delano’s Florida Room, and the Electric Pickle. Check out her latest mixes on Soundcloud, and be sure to support the down-to-earth artist now on her personal site and Instagram.
